Lemin's New Dog
Chapter 1 - Lemin's New Dog
Lemin always wanted a dog. It was her birthday. She got a new dog. Lemin jumped and screamed. Lemin's family said, "Dogs take lots of responsibility."
"Oh," said Lemin. "But I can take care of them."
"Well you have to clean the poop and give them baths and play with them. Can you do that?"
"Yes."
"Ok," said Dad.
Last night there was a thunderstorm. Lemin had to go to the bathroom. She saw the dog named Art. Art was howling. Lemin said, "It is ok Art."
Art said "Woof, ruff, woof."
"It is ok, nothing scary, Art, "said Lemin. Art was just a dog so he didn't know what she was saying. He kept howling. Lemin put Art in her bed. Art stopped howling. Lemin dreamed about her mom giving all the food to Art and playing at the Children's Museum. Lemin woke up, it was morning. Lemin had school. Lemin was sad because she did not want Art to be alone. Mom said, "It is ok. He will be fine."
Lemin said, "Are you sure?"
"Yes," said Mom.
Lemin was studying while Art was sad because she left. Art knew where her school was. He had been there. He rushed through the streets and there he was. He went in. He went through all the 10th Grader's rooms because that was the grade Lemin was in. And he found the room, Room 20. Lemin's teacher was named Miss Caser. Miss Caser found the dog. She said, "Look at that dog. Isn't he a cutie?"
Lemin stood up and said, "Hey, that's my dog named Art. Please give him to me."
The teacher said, "He could join our dog club."
"You have a dog club?"
"Why not?" said Miss Caser.
"Well, ok. Can I be there too?"
"Yes."
"Yeah," said Lemin.
The next morning Lemin rushed to school and opened her class door. Dog Club was set. In the corner sat Miss Caser. Miss Caser said, "Hello."
"Hi," said Lemin as she was putting her backpack down.
After the dog club Lemin walked home and saw that Art was tired so she got a water bottle from the backpack. They were home and walked up the stairs and opened the door. "Hi," said Mom. Mom made some dinner. It was carrots and macaroni and for desert, cupcakes. "Yum," said Lemin. Lemin sat on the chair. After dinner it was time for bed. It was night. Lemin was asleep. The next morning Lemin said hi to Art. Art made a funny sound, like car underwater every time he tried to woof. Lemin was scared. Mom took him to the vet. The vet checked him. They said, "Just a little cut in the throat. He's all better." Lemin jumped for joy. Lemin screamed and said, "I love veterinarians!"
"You do?" asked Mom.
"Yes, they helped my dog and other animals too. They're amazing."
While they were walking down the street back home a strong gust of wind pulled them back and they got stuck up in high tree. They had an idea. Mom said, "We can get Art to go to the house and get Dad and he can get his ladder."
"Good idea," said Lemin. Art ran home got Dad who came back with his ladder.
"Oh my, I hope this works," said Lemin. Dad put the ladder up on the tree and Lamin and Mom got off the tree. "Thank you Dad," said Lemin.
Chapter 2 - Lemin's Dog Club
Lemin loved dogs and she said to her mom, "Can I do a dog club?"
"Sure," said Mom.
Lemin and her mom signed up. Lemin woke up the next morning. Lemin woke up Mom and said, "Mom, get up."
Mom said, "Ok." So Lemin rushed outside, her mom did too. She got in the car and drove to the dog club. The dog club was packed. Lemin was happy still. Art was happy too. Lemin saw her friends, Raspberry and Strawberry Shortcake. Lemin was pleased. She was happy. Lemin was so happy she sung a song all about dogs. Lemin saw a jump house and played in it. Mom was not looking so Lemin got to play in there. Then the mom saw her and said, "Get down." Lemin thought that was her grandma so she looked. No grandma but a momma. She got out. Her mom said, "How many times did I tell you not to disappear?"
"Nine," said Lemin.
"Yes, that is a lot."
Lemin said, "Sorry."
"Ok," said Mom.
Lemin trained a dog named Kate. "I like you Kate," Lemin said. Lemin trained her to tricks, like roll over. Soon it was time to go home. Lemin said good-bye to Kate and gave a kiss on the back.
Chapter 3 - Lemin and Her Dog
Lemin had it easy. She played with Art and layed on her bed and fell asleep. Lemin woke up. She watched TV. Her favorite show, Doggie Woggie. Lemin was getting bored so she decided to play with Art. She played tug-a-war. Lemin played with Art all day long until she had to go to bed. In the morning, Lemin played with Art more. She liked to play with him.
Chapter 4 - Lemin Goes to School With Art
Lemin had to go to school. She remembered that last time she had Art with her. She wanted to bring him again. Lemin brought him to school. She put him in the carrier and opened the car door. Then her mom drove her there. Lemin showed her friends the dog. They thought he was cute. Lemin was happy she brought Art.
Chapter 5 - Art's First Movie
Lemin was going to watch the movie Tangled. She said to Art, "would you like to watch the movie?"
"Woof!"
Lemin sat on the couch and watched previews of other movies like Felix, Kung Fu Panda 2, Cars 2, Care Bears, The Ninjas of the Night and Puss in Boots. It was finally time for the movie. She had popcorn and had a sandwich too. Art was so excited for the movie he wiggled his tail so much. Art enjoyed his first movie.
Chapter 6 - Art Can Dance
One day Lemin was dancing. Art saw her dance and he wanted to dance too. Art had no chance but to dance. He walked to the dance floor and when he did a move he would fall. He got up and tried again. He could dance. Lemin was amazed at a dog dancing.
Chapter 7 - Art Can Do Gymnastics
Art went with Lemin to gymnastics. Art wanted to get to use the equipment. He barked and woofed. Art saw that they could spin in the air and land on their feet. Art wondered how they could do that. Art came up and got at the end of the line. He waited his turn. It was finally his turn, he hung on the bars and spun in the air and fell to his feet.
Chapter 8 - Art Serves a Meal
Art was eating his food. It was almost dinner time. Lemin said, "I am hungry."
"Well, ok, " said Mom . Art came into the kitchen and said, "woof." Mom said, "Really? So you can cook?"
He set right to work. He made chicken and bacon and raviolis too. It was delicious. "Yum," said Lemin.
"Yes," said Mom and Dad.
"Thank you for the meal," said Lemin.
Art said, wait there's more. "Woof," cake everyone, dig in. So they did.
Chapter 9 - Art Helps With Chores
It was a messy house at Lemin's. She was going to have a visitor so she had to pick up her clothes and toys and trash she left laying around. Art see that she needs help so he comes over to the trash to say hi to Lemin. He goes to her room to clean up clothes and toys. He sweeps up stuff and throws away trash. Art finds old stuff that Lemin forgot about like her dollhouse. Art finds more old stuff behind the couch like her yo-yo, notebook, her toy truck, and LPS (Littlest Pet Shop). Art finds lots more stuff behind her bed like her journal and her toy castle and markers. Art finds more stuff behind the dresser like her stuffed animals. Art finds even more stuff behind the bench on her porch. He finds pictures. Art finds more things behind the chair in the bedroom like a ball, a cd, and a balloon. Art finds lots more things under her karaoke. He finds her baby blanket.
Chapter 10 - Art Is Not Good
Art was bad. He whined a lot., Art got into trouble a lot. Art got in the way of people and they tripped. Art was on his walk. He saw a squirrel. He never chased squirrels because he was good other days, but this day he did.
Chapter 11 - Art's First Camp
Lemin was going to camp at a place called "GCH." Art was going too. He was excited to go camp. It was finally time to go to GCH. They got a campsite, then relaxed. Art met a new dog named Sara. Lemin met the kid owner of Sara, her name was Tally. It was night. Lemin said, "Let's go have a fire."
"Ok," said Mom.
Chapter 12 - Vacation for Lemin and Art and the Whole Family
Lemin was going on vacation with her uncles and Grandma, Grandpa, Papa, aunts and Art and Mom and Dad. Lemin is going to Florida. They get to the airport and check in their luggage. They fly off.
Chapter 13 - Lemin plays ball with Taly
Lemin was playing ball with her mother. Taly was walking by. She saw them playing. She asked if she could play. Lemin said, "Yes."
"Ok," Taly replied. They played all day long.
Chapter 14 - The Well in the Ground
Lemin was walking in the backyard. Lemin rushed in the house and said, "Mom, go outside, there is a well!"
"Ok." So she went outside and Mom said, "Well, I never saw that well before."
Lemin saw Art. Art saw water in the well. Art jumped in the well. Lemin saw Art in the well. Art was drowning so Lemin saved Art.
Chapter 15 - Art is Scary
It was Halloween Art was a ghost and Lemin was a dog like Art. Art went to a door and scared Miss Aly and Mr. Aly Art is scary.
Chapter 16 - Art Plays a Piano
For Thanksgiving, Lemin went to her friend's house. She saw a piano. Art saw the piano too. He saw lots of keys. He hit one and then another one. He played piano.
Chapter 17 - A Family Reunion
One day Lemin was invited to a family reunion. Her cousins were the people who sent the invitation. Her cousin, Lily, lived in a skyscraper. The next day Lemin went with her mom to the building. They went in. There were lots of doors. Lemin said, "Why are there so many doors?"
"Because people live in there," said Mom.
"Oh," said Lemin. "Why are there numbers?"
"Because if someone asks what door someone is at, they will tell them their number. Now let's get on the elevator," said Mom.
They got on the elevator and then off. They found door number 9. Lemin said, "Hey, did you bring Art?'
"Yes," said Mom.
Lemin knocked two times. Lily opened the door. "Hi," said Lily. "Come in."
"Ok," said Lemin. Lemin saw Lily's Christmas tree. Lemin fell because Lily's Christmas tree was beautiful. Lemin got up. Someone knocked on the door, her grandma. Lemin had fun.
Chapter 18 - A Gift
One day Lemin went to school. It was almost Christmas. Lemin saw her teacher in the hallway. Lemin went in to her classroom and saw her friend Linny. "Hi Linny," said Lemin.
"I have a gift for you," said Linny.
"You do?" asked Lemin.
"Yes, here you go."
"Thank you," said Lemin. It was an angel.
Chapter 19 - A Little Early, Lemin and Art's Christmas
Lemin went to school and came home, she saw her house had been decorated. Lemin went inside inside her house and was amazed at what she saw. It was so decked she could not walk in her house. Lemin was scared because her family was gone, even Art. Lemin heard something behind her dollhouse, it was Art. Art jumped out and said, "Woof!". It meant "Surprise!" Then she heard a rustle behind her bench.
"Surprise," said her dad. Lemin hear something behind her couch. "Surprise," said her mom.
Chapter 20 - A New Calendar
Lemin saw that tomorrow it would be 2012. She asked her mom if they could buy a calendar, a dog one. The next day Lemin and her mom went to the store to buy a calendar. There were dogs and flowers, until she said "Dogs." Lemin picked it up and put it on the counter and bought it. When they got home Lemin hung the calendar on the wall.
Chapter 21 - Playing at the Playground
It was a nice hot summer day. Lemin and Art wanted to go someplace fun. "Well," said Mom. "We can go to the playground." Lemin and Art and Lemin's mom went to the playground. Lemin saw a girl who had no one to play with. Lemin went over to her and said, "Do you like to be my friend?"
"Yes!" she said.
"What's your name?" asked Lemin.
"Lila," said the girl.
"Let's play," said Lemin.
"Ok," said Lila. Lila played tag with Lemin.
Chapter 22 - The Hurt Girl
One day when Lemin got out of school she went to the playground. She saw a girl crying. Lemin sat next to the girl and asked the girl if she was ok. The girl names Lilyln had a big, bleeding boo boo. She cried bigger and bigger. "Would you like a bandaid?"
"Yes, please."
Lemin reached in her backpack.. "Oh, no! I left the first aid kit at home." Art comes running to Lemin with the first aid kit in case something happened. Lemin said, "thank you Art." Lemin saved the day
